Letter to the governor

Dear Governor Bentley
<br>
<br>
My name is Skyland Mathews. I am 21 and is currently in college. I am writing on behalf of my old classmate Jefferson. I have known Jefferson for a long time and trust me , I was not always a fan. Jefferson and I have had many altercations,nothing too serious, and many more apologies. Although Jefferson has made many mistakes in life, he has a really good heart. Someone with a heart as big as Jefferson's is hard to find. Luckily I had my chance.

Jefferson and I met in the 7th grade where Mrs. Ambrose was our teacher. I did not like Jefferson at all. He would always blurt out the answers when I raised my hand, take my favorite swing during recess, and skip me in the lunch line. A few months into the school year my mother informed me that we were moving and that I was going to a new school. I was so excited, thought I would never have to see Jefferson again. We moved to a very friendly neighborhood. Everyone there was like a family. Many of our neighbors came to bring gifts and introduce themselves. However, only one of them caught my attention. It was a heavy set woman. She told me that her name was Ms. Emma but the children called her nanaan. She said that she had a nephew that she would like for me to meet so she and my mom scheduled a play date. It was just like my luck , the nephew was Jefferson. I thought he was going to be mean and rude to me but he was the exact opposite. When I was sad he'd make me laugh ,and when I was sick he would bring soup from Ms. Emma. Jefferson had become my next door neighbor and now my bestfriend.

Jefferson should not be executed because he has a purpose. Jefferson is Ms. Emma's pride and joy. Ms Emma is very old and sick. Jefferson is the only thing she has to live for. Just the thought of Jefferson keeps her going. If you execute Jefferson you are also taking her life.
